Chair of Social Justice and Inclusion Studies teaches, develops and researches theories, methods and professional social work practice based on the concepts of social justice, inclusion and anti-discrimination. It relates social work as a special way of thinking and practice to social policies as specific ways of state regulations of the social sphere. The Chair focuses on three main areas:
gender equality-based social work with women and children;
social work in the area of disability studies; and
ethnically competent social work practice for people with diverse ethnic backgrounds. Students learn basic ethical principles of social work and are expected to understand and internalise global ethical principles of social work. They understand ethical dilemmas in social work and social policy and are enabled to take into consideration specific social and political contexts of professional social work practice.
