Psychology in philosophy: questions of soul and spirit, mind and awareness, learning and knowledge, passion and desire, freedom and determination. Psychology as a science: disciplines, pivotal schools. Selected methodologies and applications: experiment, subjective report, psychometry, opinion polls and surveys, psychological influence. Ethical considerations of psychological research. Subject-fields: behaviour, temper, character, black box, perception, apperception, recognition processes, experience, affect, idea, illusion, ego, psychic apparatus, identity, thought, memory, the unconscious and consciousness, motivation, conflict, parapraxes, dynamic and reflective structure. Group and mass psychology: culture, conformism, imitation, identification, ideal. Families: relations and relationships, 'nature / culture', family as an institution. Relations between psychology and social work. Selected topics from social and family psychology: recognition of self and the other, communication, life-world, prejudices and stigmatisation, imagination, patterns in family relationships.
