Subject content:

The aim of the subject is for students to acquire a historical understanding of and to become acquainted with basic theoretical concepts, comparative studies from different parts of the world, and learn selected practical methods of work and procedures of social work with people with impairments. The psycho-social perspective for work with people with mobility, sensory and intellectual impairments is key to social work. Competencies: theoretical understanding, self-reflection, understanding of the basic ethical dilemmas, contextuality and knowledge of the basic methods, procedures, processes and legal aspects related to these fields, the ability to feel empathy and to understand the user perspective.
