Summary:

In the CIG project, we will continue the work we have been developing over the past five years in the framework of the COST EurofamNet project. EurofamNet has examined family support conceptualisation and delivery in a large sample of countries, identifying structural, organisational and cultural facets that connect EU states, as well as disparities in schemes and realities that require responsive approaches. Inter-country diversity in the adoption of evidence-based standards in family support has been also established by EurofamNet. To advance in the adoption of high-quality family support it is necessary to guarantee the adoption of agreed quality standards for professional practice in family support across Europe. EurofamNet will implement a quality assurance protocol in family support services in the participating countries through a self-directed assessment process to identify their strengths and challenges followed by an improvement plan. The implementation of a quality assurance protocol will produce an evidence-based and culturally-informed novel model for professional practice. This will also be the basis for European guidelines on family support.
