Summary:

Project objective is to enable future social workers to become agents of change and participate in building sustainable urban communities. Specific objectives are to research conflicting values in urban development; develop a new method for dialogue that promotes common values (protreptic), participation and inclusion; produce a knowledge-based collaborative dilemma game so players become aware of their values; and create a collection of digital materials which enhance knowledge about urban sustainability.

The project partners conduct ethnographic research to produce knowledge about conflicting values in urban development and implement new spaces for dialogue in social work education concerned with communication, ethics, advocacy and community work through a concept called VISION. The project is focused on the creation of films, podcasts, and a game to open up new conversations about urban aspects of social, economic and environmental sustainability.

The important part of the porjest is education of teachers and social workers to become agents of change for a sustainable future. In a collaboration between 5 social work educations and 5 practice organizations (DK, FI, NL, FR & SL) two results are expected: 1) a competent social workers who communicate and collaborate better with urban developers and can represent the voices of vulnerable urban populations; 2).  the adjustment of curriculums in partner's univerities to address missing topics which support students to become more aware of intersections between structural and economic issues effecting local urban development and wellbeing of residents.
