INFORMATION ON THE ABSTRACT

Please register the paper for the congress by filling in the registration of the paper form and by submitting the abstract of the paper. If you wish to register several papers, please register each of them separately.
Send your registration (the form and the abstract) to our address not later than 31 May 2002.
Confirmations of your registrations will be sent at the address stated in your registration form in a few weeks after the expiry of the registration deadline.
Each abstract will be reviewed by competent reviewers who will assess its relevance for the Congress, its topicality and the stability of the method or the arguments. You will be notifed in writing on whether your paper has been accepted for the Congress or not.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE ABSTRACT

The abstract should be a short summary of the proposed paper and should not comprise more than 350 words. It should be written in English.
The title of the paper should be written in capital letters and should not have more than 70 signs.
Author's or authors' name/s should be written under the title of the paper with the leading author stated at the first place. The name of the author who will present the paper should be underlined. Please write the capital letter of the author's first name in front of his/her surname - without stating his/her academic titles.
The abstract should be written in a single paragraph without pictures.
It should be followed by three to six key words underneath.
Only complete registrations (fully filled in Registration of the paper form and a correctly composed abstract) will be considered.
The abstract will be language edited before publication.

Formal category of the contents of the abstract

Main formal categories are scientific research, politics and practice, view and comment. The following general rules apply for the presentation:

Scientific research

The abstract should explicitly present the authentic findings and should not include formulations such as "This paper will present the results of" and similar. It should present:
- the description of the problem and the aims of the research
- the methods used
- the results
- the conclusions.

Politics and practice

Inlcudes the description of politics, programmes, projects, interventions and other activities. The abstract should present:
- the problem
- the circumstances
- the project or activity
- the consequences, findings.

View and comment

Includes a theoretical review, a critical analysis or discussion, where the author presents his/her view or comment regarding a certain topic. The abstract should present:
- the problem and the author's standpoint towards it
- the method of analysis
- the key points
- the summary of implications and conclusions.

Finally, check whether you:

- wrote the title of the paper
- attached the names of all the authors (and underlined the name of the presenting person)
- filled in ALL the rubrics in the Registration of Paper Form
- followed the thematic rules of the presentation
- considered the word limit of 350 words per paper
- added key words
- expressed your thoughts, material and conclusion clearly
- asked a colleague to read your abstract and tell you his/her impression.

Important information!

The registration of the paper does not automatically mean the registration at the Congress. Please, fill in the form for participation at the congress separately. The payment of the participation fee is obligatory for all.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE REGISTRATION OF THE PAPER

The Registration of the Paper Form can be sent by post or in electronic form. It should be written in the MS Word programme. You can send the file by electronic mail to the address cisd @fsd.si or on a floppy disc (3,5 inch, PC format) to the address: School of Social work, "Kongres", Topniška 33, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Abstracts sent in other forms (i.e. on a piece of paper by post or fax) will not be taken in consideration.

The invited papers

The invited authors are requested to submit the abstract under the same instructions.
