Themes  

1. Equal opportunities as a social process

- Ideologies of inequality (neo-liberalism and social justice, social deprivation, racism, sexism, social and physical security, managerialism)
- Economic, political, and other structural factors of inequality (unemployment, reduction of rights, limitation of expenses, aging)  
- Culture of social (in)equality (tolerance and intolerance, the culture of care)  
- Social reforms and processes (the accumulation of wealth of the elites, individualisation)

2. Equal opportunities in reform processes

- Changes in legislation and new laws (Social Protection Act, Act of Long-Term Care and Insurance in Long-Term Care, Act of Professional Rehabilitation, Equalisation of Opportunities Act, Mental Health Act)   
- Reflection of policies (of social protection, employment, drugs, aging, family policy)  
- Formation of new organisational solutions (the reorganisation of centres of social work, the vision of the development of special institutions, the coordination of plural services in the community, long-term care and direct payment, personal and family assistants, the evaluations of programmes)

3. Methods of equalisation of opportunities

Perspective of power as the methodical starting points of social work   
- Formation of methods, procedures, approaches (generic procedures of social work, social work in social institutions, management in social work, evaluation of methods)  
- New challenges (ethical dimensions, dementia, double stigma, the risks of growing up and growing old, child advocacy)

4. Professional dilemmas and crossroads

- Ethical dilemmas and pressures (the aspect of control, the ethics of joint responsibility, the ethics of participation, the ethics of cooperation)  
- Competences, knowledge, and skills (the Bologna process, the knowledge and skills of social workers)
- The structure of profiles, professions and services (connections with, and delimitation from, related professions; new profiles; hybrid professions; labour market and employment opportunities; the catalogues of services)  
- Efficiency and promotion (social work in the media; the affirmation of the profession; good practice; the provision of quality)
