Summary:
Demographic changes, particularly population aging, are among the key challenges of the 21st century. According to Eurostat data, by 2070 nearly 30% of the EU population will be over 65 years old. This transformation requires scientifically supported, cross-sectoral, and sustainability-oriented responses. The project Healthy and Active Aging in a Long-Lived Society positions itself at the center of these challenges and seeks to develop a foundation for a comprehensive, integrative approach to healthy, active, and dignified aging based on current research findings and supported by European and global strategic frameworks.
Through an interdisciplinary approach, the project will link the most outstanding research achievements and best practice examples and position the existing Competence Center for Social Innovations in the field of healthy and active aging at the ADRION regional level as the most important interdisciplinary research center in the field of healthy and active aging and long-lived society. Through knowledge transfer and networking between different scientific fields, as well as transferring knowledge to the environment, we will stimulate innovations aimed at the 65+ population in a long-lived society. The main goal of the project is to create research-based foundations for the development of a national and European framework to support healthy and active aging.
