Summary:

In five years, Dom na Krasu is planning to transform itself into a web of community services. For the transformation to be successful, necessary training must be provided for the professionals in the institution. Interdisciplinary collaboration and direct work with users must be strengthened. By the end of the training, professionals in the institution must be equipped with the necessary tools for the transformation from institutional to community service provision.

Training is designed in at least two important aspects. First, a part of the training is informative – professionals will be informed about the crucial processes, assumptions, and methods for deinstitutionalisation. Second, a part of training is formative – professionals will be trained to adopt new methods and ways of working and, additionally, to develop new methods.

The training contains the following thematical joints: crucial concepts and principles of deinstitutionalisation, integration of users in the processes of decision-making, personalised care, risk management without restraint, establishing services in community, management of deinstitutionalisation.
