Summary:

The project Strengthening the Public Image of Social Work had the following three objectives:

(a) Enabling and promoting (at various levels) positive coverage of social work, thus contributing to a more appropriate understanding of social work both in the media and among the public, and thus also contributing to strengthening a more positive professional identity,

(b) establishing collaborations and linkages among various stakeholders (Slovenian Association of Social Workers, students and staff of the Faculty of Social Work, social workers in practice, and others) that can help raise public awareness of social work and support them in their efforts to improve conditions; and

(c) preparing a proposal for possible activities (which could help to strengthen an appropriate positive image of social work) for the future activities of the Association.

In doing so, the participating students were able to:

- improve various competencies (including so-called soft competencies) through flexible forms of learning,

- develop innovation, creative thinking and creativity,

- gain different experiences also through the implementation of ideas,

-  test and implement the students' ideas,

- connect with the non-business or non-profit sector.

That way, students were able to gain the necessary experience for an easier transition from study to work- The project also contributed to the strengthening of cooperation between different non-economic actors (society and faculty), as well as to a more intense collaboration with students and different publics.
