Introduction. Development. The importance of anti-discrimination law for social work.
- Overview of the most important legal sources in the field of prohibition of discrimination and the principle of equal treatment and equal opportunities: internal legal sources (the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia, laws), EU law (treaties, EU directives on equal treatment, in particular directive 2006/54, directive 2000/78 and directive 2000/43), international legal sources (UN conventions, International Labor Organization, Council of Europe).
- Legal definition of discrimination, equal treatment, equal opportunities. Personal circumstances: definition, characteristics, examples (gender, age, nationality, language, etc.). Direct discrimination, indirect discrimination. Sexual and other harassment. Instruction to discriminate. Retaliatory measures. Discrimination by association. Discrimination by assumption. Multiple discrimination.
- Positive actions. Special measures.
- The right to judicial protection. Reversed burden of proof. Liability for damages.
- Overview of institutions and procedures for enforcing protection against discrimination and the right to equal treatment and equal opportunities.
