Summary:

The project is designed in an interdisciplinary way, as the concept of longevity will be considered as a challenge in the social, technical, artistic, medical and philosophical fields. The aim of the project is to prepare a plan for the development of a flexible network of education for the elderly at the University of Ljubljana and the development of new practices for all groups of the elderly. This includes education for a second career, preparation for retirement (transition education), education for older people after retirement and for older people in late stages of life. The purpose of the pilot project is to also establish the possibility for the University of Ljubljana to become an area of intergenerational contact, which will promote feelings of belonging and care, as well as intergenerational education and cooperation. The development of at least three solutions is planned, namely intergenerational counselling and so-called reverse mentoring, intergenerational learning and creation (e.g. film), intergenerational project work, upgrading the methods of working with art (painting, film, creative reading and writing, music) and methods of participatory research and citizen science.
