Summary:
The project addresses the needs of social workers in an innovative way, who, due to various reasons, such as overload or lack of financial resources, no longer have consistent contact with the faculty, modern knowledge and skills that could help them. By establishing ALUMNI FSD as a community of practice, we will strengthen cooperation between social workers, the teaching community and students and stimulate discussion among various stakeholders. In a broader context, this means better competence of social workers for the challenges of modern society, which in turn can affect better quality work and the reputation of social work in society. On the other hand, we will always put users and their perspective at the center, which will enable thinking about the user as an expert from experience, and the development of social work in many areas. We believe that with more connected and consistent work, we can encourage a different narrative about the work of social workers in the media.
Other:
The planned innovations are in creating the Alumni FSD community, where they facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the academic environment to the work environment and into the community among participants, together with users, decision-makers, and other stakeholders:
- Production of alumni stories (on the FSD website and UL alumni website), webinars on current topics involving various stakeholders
- Annual Alumni FSD Forum, which will encourage a learning community in social work
- Establishment of a platform as a community of practice in the field of social work
- Regular involvement of professional organizations, ministries, and users in Alumni FSD activities
- Formation of the CGP Alumni FSD, establishment of content on the FSD website, creation of LinkedIn for Alumni FSD
- Inclusion of all FSD departments in various Alumni FSD activities
The project is based on an intergenerational, participatory, and interdisciplinary approach. An important part of the project will also be comprised of social work service users, who will be actively involved in discussions, webinars, and forums as experts from experience.
