  • Designing a conventional quantitative survey Preliminary phase: survey proposal; applying for calls for research projects. Formulation of the problem: analysis of the problem situation and formulation of hypotheses. Definition of concepts, variables: conceptualization and operationalization, research model. Measurement: measuring scales, measuring instruments, metric characteristics. Population and sampling: defining the population, principles of sampling, types of samples.
  • Methods of collecting empirical data: Observation: characteristics, types, problems, techniques. Questioning (research interview and survey): characteristics, types, problems, techniques (questionnaire construction). Analysis of secondary material.
  • Using computer programs to find secondary data sources.
  • Reporting on empirical research and dissemination of findings.
